A little about me

My name is Christina “Tina” Washington, LMHC, CCTP,  I will put the energy and effort into helping support you and your family reach your goals and/or desired outcomes.  I have Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling as well as a graduate certificate in addictions from Capella University. I have been working with children and families in various aspects since 2002 (coach and para educator) and continue to focus on youth and underserved individuals as a psychotherapist.  I am familiar with school systems and special education needs. I am experienced with developmental delays, behavioral disturbance, and both acute and chronic mental illness. 

My theoretical foundation is existentialism. I also have experience working with adults with intellectual differences in both a clinical and advocate capacity. I feel like I work well children and youth of a variety of ages along with their parents and I thrive at building the therapeutic relationship.  I enjoy both talk therapy and play-based modalities. I enjoy working with and supporting individuals across the life-span who present with a variety of issues including co-occurring disorders. I often approach therapy from a multi-modal perspective and adapt and individualize as per the client’s needs and have experience supporting physical health and its intersection with mental illness.
